David Blázquez! Wow! His 'human furniture' photography is fun, quirky and a little startling. I love how Blázquez sets about to challenge the viewer; taking household objects (dining tables, book shelves, baths) and replacing them with the nude form. The purpose of his work is to make the viewer start to wonder whether furniture has feelings and emotions, make you believe that all the objects around you are capable of watching you...probably not! But still, good work David!
This is a really interesting take on 'man-made furniture'! Definitely blurring the line between art and furniture design, because although they do appear to work, I think the form dominates the functionality. Not sure I would balance my TV on them anyway! And I wonder how my Gran would feel if one turned up in our living room... Great post!
